Description: The National Summer Undergraduate Research Project (NSURP) is a community-driven initiative to create rewarding remote summer research opportunities specifically for undergraduate students from minoritized groups in Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology Sciences. Summer research experiences are vital opportunities to enrich undergraduate students’ learning, and are invaluable tools for cultivating a deeper love for science, developing new skills, connecting with mentors, growing professional networks, and opening doors to new opportunities. NSURP is an 8-week, full-time (40 hours/week), remote, research experience designed to: -Match students on a nationwide level to Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology laboratory mentors who can provide a virtual summer research project experience. -Provide science and professional development seminar series for participating students. -Provide a platform for the matched students to present research online in an official capacity -Help students obtain research opportunities that provide preparation for graduate programs to get their master's degree or Ph.D. NSURP has funds available to provide adequate technology equipment for participants that need it (e.g., laptop)
